Which vaccines at which age in Djibouti?
This is the national schedule of the Expanded Programme on Immunization (PEV in French). The pentavalent vaccine protects against diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, Haemophilus influenzae type b and hepatitis B in one shot.

Show the record to a doctor: they will say which vaccines to catch up. A child vaccinated in Europe or North America followed a different schedule, and the doctor compares the two.

After a vaccine, when should I call 119?
Soreness or swelling where the shot was given, fever, fussiness, tiredness or loss of appetite can follow a vaccine. Fever over 40.5 °C or non-stop crying for 3 hours or more: see a doctor without delay.
Call 119 if you see any of these signs:
- Difficulty breathing.
- Swelling of the face or throat, or hives.
- A racing heart, fainting or extreme weakness.
- Seizures.

Which vaccines are compulsory for a baby in Djibouti?
The national schedule includes every vaccine in the table, from birth to 15 months. A bill approved by the Council of Ministers in 2025 plans to make them compulsory before age 5.
At what age is the measles vaccine given in Djibouti?
At 9 months for the first dose and at 15 months for the second, with vitamin A at both visits.
Is the HPV vaccine given in Djibouti?
Yes: the national schedule includes one dose for girls aged 9. Ask your health centre or paediatrician.
What if my child missed a vaccine?
Show the record to a doctor or the health centre: they will tell you how to catch up.
