Duty pharmacy in Djibouti this week
Every week, a few private pharmacies in Ras-Dika, Boulaos and Balbala are on duty. The Ministry of Health sets this rota for six months and publishes it on its official page. We reproduce it here, week by week, and check the list.

How it works
- The Ministry of Health (General Inspectorate of Health Services) publishes the duty rota of private pharmacies for each half-year, district by district: Ras-Dika, Boulaos and Balbala.
- Find the current week: the exact dates are those of the official rota, reproduced above.
- Pick the duty pharmacy in your district, or the one nearest to you.
- The rota gives no address or phone number. If in doubt, write to us on WhatsApp: we check for you before you go.
- Bring your prescription: a prescription-only medicine may be refused without it.

Which pharmacy is on duty tonight in Djibouti?

Is there a duty pharmacy in Balbala?
Yes. Each week the Ministry’s rota names two or three duty pharmacies in the Balbala district: choose “Balbala” in the filter to see only those.
Which day does the duty pharmacy change?
Usually on Wednesday: each duty lasts one week, from Wednesday to the following Tuesday. A few weeks in the rota start on another day: go by the dates in the table.
Are medicines more expensive at night?
They can be: from 8 pm to 6 am, medicines sold by the duty pharmacy may cost up to 10% more, according to the Ministry of Finance’s pharmacy fact sheet. Ask the price before you pay.
What should I bring to the duty pharmacy?
The original prescription, your CNSS card if you are insured, and money to pay, night surcharge included. For a relative, also note their name, age and other treatments.
What should I do in an emergency?
Call 119 (SMUR). A duty pharmacy does not replace emergency services, and neither does a WhatsApp message.
Can I get my medicines delivered?
Yes, depending on your area: send your prescription to Medyc, we prepare it at a pharmacy and confirm availability and cost before delivery. See the Medicine delivery page.
